About Dan McGrady

Hi, I'm a UX designer and front-end engineer spending time between Toronto, Montreal and SF.

I began designing web sites at a young age working as a web developer out of high school.

I went on to teach myself programming (primarily in Ruby and Javascript) while building my first web app, a music discovery Contrastream while in college in 2007.

I later cofounded Integrate, a B2B web and mobile app for tracking field sales teams. The software was acquired by TTI (parent company of Hoover Vacuums and Dirt Devil) in 2009.

I discovered I was learning far more from creating companies than I was from class and left school to work on startups full-time.

I spent some time as a designer and developer at NuLayer and later Savvica a startup in Toronto, creators of Learnhub and Jumbotests.

I am currently co-founding and bootstrapping CareLogger.

What is dMix?

dMix was originally a pseudonym I made up (a play off of my initials dm and remix) from when I ventured into producing music.

I now use it to post about startups, technology and design and when consulting.
